Rustic pen stand!!

Hi friends,
Today, I am here to give you detailed steps how I made this beautiful pen stand. This is multi purpose stand made up of raw MDF. I really love.playing with metallic waxes and so let's get started..

Now coming back on to my project... I have prepared small pictorial tutorial for the making of this project..
  • First of all I gathered all the required material.
  • Then completely covered this wooden MDF pen stand with white gesso.
  • After that I used newly lauch stone effect texture paste from Itsy Bitsy with the help of stencil.

  • Let it completely dry all the three sides and then on front side I stick steampunk wooden chippies from Itsy Bitsy and then covered it completely with black gesso.

  • After completely dried I assembled all the embellishments separately coated with black gesso.
  • Then comes the final touch up. For that I chose metallic waxes from Itsy Bitsy and metallic paints from expressions craft and started highlighting the embellishments with wax on fingers. Rubbing slowly to get it perfectly done.
Hope you all liked my project..

Orange box!!

Hi friends,
After long gap, I am back with my altered art creation. Here, I decided to alter empty box of Zoop watch...

I really love to create altered art and so this time I decided to reform Zoop watch box of my daughter and see how beautiful it turned out..

Supplies I used:

  • White heavy Gesso by expressions craft
  • Chalk paint by expressions craft - Orange and Green
  • Resin made from the clay from Crafters Corner
  • Metal embellishment
  • Metallic wax from Art Alchemy from Crafters Corner
  • Fevicryl Orange color
  • Clear drops
  • Stencils from Itsy Bitsy
  • Texture paste from Expressions craft
Here are the steps how I created this:
  • First of all I completely cover the box with white gesso to prepare base for mixed media.
  • Then I covered entire box with green color chalk paint by dabbing technique and then I placed the moulds in desired manner.
  • Let it completely dry.
  • After that just color the resin embellishments with orange fevicryl color to give it bright orange color.
  • Then just start highlighting the embellishments with silver metallic wax.
Ta da... my art piece is ready...

LOVE - a mixed media layout!!

      Hello dearies,
Hope all doing well and soaring high with crafting!
Today, I am in front of you with my inspirational post for the current challenge - Love theme on Splashy Mix Challenges group. Guys do participate in the monthly challenge to win lots of amazing prizes by our dignified sponspors. So, back to the post, here I created a layout that can be personalized easily.
Here are few glimpses of my creation:

Now, it's time to get started with steps how I created this beautiful layout. So, let's get started with pictorial tutorial how I made this LOVE layout..
      • At the very first I took cardboard of 12"X12" measurement and then pasted pattern paper of my choice over it. After drying I coated it with thin layer of white gesso. Then I added layered papers to fit my picture of related theme or you can also add your personal photo.

      • Then move on, I added textures near to my photo mat with the help of stencils and texture paste. But before that, I marked boundary to photo mat so that I can add more texture near to that.. It will be perfectly get clear from pics below:

      • After adding textures, let it completely dry. Then, move on next to play with colors. For covering maximum part, I preferred chalk paints and then to give it shine, I highlighted it with metallic paints. Also sprayed sprinkle mist to give it vibrant hue. The entire process goes on still I didn't get completely satisfied.

      • Move on to next step, I started assembling embellishments like flowers, wooden chipboards, paper die cuts, clear drops and many more. But I chose almost all embellishments in pink color to give the layout a classy look and as per theme of LOVE!!

      • After assembling all the embellishments, I added some sentiments according to the theme and then sprinkled black small dots with sprinkle mist for final touch up!!

Hope I inspired you by this post and do take part in current ongoing challenge on Splashy Mix Challenges..
